Hey, who remembers me?

I forgot livejournal existed.

Spring break was good - stayed in Baltimore, saw Kayo Dot. I wasn't sure how they'd manage to actually outdo the material from "Dowsing...", but they did. They just keep getting better. The new songs and lineup are spectacular.

MICA gave me some money for the competitive scholarship. That was nice.

Here are some of the better drawings I did in NYC this weekend.

I was in New York this weekend to visit my brother. He was there for an audition to the Manhattan School of Music's grad program, for jazz piano.



On Sunday night we met with our cousin On, who I hadn't seen in who knows how long. 11 years? More? It was a very enjoyable experience! On is a fascinating guy, and we had really incredible food at this fancy vegan restaurant, Candle 79. Hopefully we'll get to meet again soon.

So, through a music forum I'm a part of I got in contact with an instrumental hip hop musician. I liked his music, so I let him use my work for his album, "Interstellar Commute". It's a home-made print, so it's not exactly professional quality, but it looks pretty good. The album is produced by this guy Recor, and features guitar by Avrey Muela and bass on one track from Owen Biddle, the new bassist of the Roots.
